Dunnottar Castle has plans to for a visitor centre on the 600-year old iconic site.  Owners Dunecht Estates is also trying to improve the links between the castle and the town, and they are seeking feedback from the community.

Chief executive Stuart Young said: “The plans are at an early stage but we have developed some proposals. We’re working on improving connectivity between the castle and the beach and develop the network of paths that link the castle to the town.”

The Estates say they are going to meet with the two local community councils and discuss plans with them. The Stonehaven Community Council is to receive a presentation on 14 April, and Chairman Knud Christensen has confirmed they will receive a friendly welcome.
