It comes as no surprise that a 13km stretch of the A937 between Montrose and Ago (Laurencekirk) has been named as one of the most dangerous roads in the UK.

In a report published today by The Road Safety Foundation the A937 is the third "persistently higher risk road". Figures have improved slightly from 2007/09 to 2010/12 but what strikes you is the map of Scotland. The only other road in Sscotland which shows as much "black" for danger is the A809 in Glasgow. Local campaigners are angered. Decide for yourself by downloading a copy of the report here:  http://www.roadsafetyfoundation.org/media/30867/eurorap_brochure_2014_spread.pdf

We don't want a notorious road in the Mearns. We want a flyover NOW!
